Perspective on Time Haiku

I wrote this poem during and artist’s cohort this fall. The prompt was from the book “Artists Rule: Nurturing Your Creative Soul with Monastic Wisdom”

Dawn

Anticipation

Light breaking forth, thin veil access

Another glimpse of abiding.

Breathe sent to awaken life.

Day

Full volume, full heart

My biggest smile, brightest spark

Busy whispers, with me.

My chance to participate

Dusk

Holy withdrawing, pause

Last light bursts of awe, gentle, slow

“Can You find me here?”

His beautiful pausing me

Dark

Grieving, mystery,

Shadows are still not dark to me

His embodiment

He still can walk through my walls
